Pastor’s Report
Annual Meeting
January 31, 2007

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
(Prov. 10:22)

Let’s count some blessings at our Annual Meeting tonight. It’s not a hard thing to do as the Lord blessed us in many ways this past year.

Personal Blessings
God sure blessed me when he gave me Kim for a wife. She is a busy Pastor’s wife. I will never know how she home schools the kids, maintains the home, serves in the Sunday School ministry, cleaning ministry, music ministry, and a bunch of other things, but she does it all well. She is a patient Pastor’s wife. When ministry calls even in the middle of times together as a family, she gives support to me and prays for those who are in need. When pressured by the many different expectations that people have of the “perfect” pastor’s wife, she just trudges along trusting the Lord to use her for His glory instead of trying to do the impossible task of fitting every mold. Kim and I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary on February 22 and serving in this ministry is all we have known. We love it and we love you! Daniel, Naomi, and Kyla are helpers in the ministry and they do not complain about serving Jesus.

Leadership Blessings
There were more Deacon’s meetings in 2006 than any other year in the history of this church. We are blessed with Deacons who know how to solve problems instead of letting them linger into something larger. We are blessed with Deacons who care about the needs of the flock. We are blessed with Deacons who are tremendous helpers to the Pastor.

The Trustees need to be commended for seeing needs around the facility and implementing plans to get things fixed. In almost every job, unforeseen items arise that bring challenges to the plans, but they plug away, and we are blessed to have the Trustees we have.

The other officers also diligently carry out their responsibilities and evidence a quality team. Thank you all for all you do.

Ministry Blessings
The prayer emphasis was and continues to be the most important emphasis at CBC. Evangelism, discipleship, worship, and all other obligations before God will not please the Lord if we are not a praying people. More people have grown in their prayer lives and more people are coming to prayer meetings. The prayer meeting room is almost too small for our prayer gatherings and we may have to move to a large space. I pray for this to happen. Praise the Lord for the privilege of prayer.

The evangelism emphasis resulted in more people hearing the gospel this year than any other given year in the history of the church. Since the gospel is the “power of God unto salvation,” I am trusting that God is going to do great things with the seeds sown from His Word.

Discipleship took place in the church services. If you consider the content of the Sunday School classes and church services, you will see that multiple feasts were served from the Word of God. We need to grow in the area of more personal one on one and small group discipleship. It is necessary and we will propose and discuss ways to grow in this needed area. The start-up of a Teen Discipleship Class was a special answer to prayer. Several of the college students will be graduating this year and it will be sad to see them moving on. We love the Young adults and college age students at CBC.

There was numerical growth this year and God has sent some wonderful people to CBC. It has been a blessing to see new people getting involved!

As you can see, this is a rich church because the blessings of God are abundant. The God Who has given us so much, expects much of us in the days ahead. Let’s press on for His glory. I will begin my 15th year of ministry to this flock in July and I believe that our best days are ahead of us, not behind us. To God be the glory!
